
In late October, the Bosstones headed to the Midwest on their "A Dash of Honesty in the Recipe" tour. They opened the festivities in New York City, selling out the infamous Roseland Ballroom, joined by Sick of It All and Hagfish. In their hometown, they raged the 3600 seat Worcester Auditorium, and then continued onto Madison, Milwaukee, Detroit, Chicago and Cleveland with Hagfish (London Records) and Alligator Gun (Relativity Records).
In October, the Bosstones were nominated by the Boston Music Awards for "Artist of the Year."
In September, the 'Tones made their first journey to Japan. The tour was one week, and garnered excellent Japanese press. They were surprised to find there was even a Japanese Bosstones' cover band!
In July, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones joined the Lollapalooza festival tour, amongst the Jesus Lizard, Pavement, Beck, Cypress Hill, Hole and Sonic Youth. They opened the main stage throughout the summer turning skeptics into diehards. In some cities, they also performed the "side stage" where fans got double doses of their ska heroes. During Lollapalooza, Mercury Records released the HERE WE GO AGAIN EP featuring non-album B-sides, including the crowd-pleasing favorite "Chocolate Pudding" (this was promotional only, not for sale).
In June, Paramount Pictures released Clueless, staring Alicia Silverstone (directed by Amy Heckerling). The Mighty Mighty Bosstones performed live as themselves, and were featured on the Clueless original motion picture soundtrack performing a new version of their 1990 Taang! hit "Where'd You Go?"
In May, the Bosstonesheadlined WFNX's (Boston) annual "Best Music Poll." They shared the outdoor Landsdowne Street stage with Letters to Cleo.
The BOSSTONES continue to create and distribute their fanzine "737." What started as some short reporting on the band, fans' letters and tour dates, has successfully grown into a polished, interactive fanzine. 737 today is released 5 times annually, reports on different kinds of music, is distributed to over 15,000 fans across the US, and offers fans a place to speak and an opportunity to purchase specific Bosstones' merchandise only offered through 737.
In April, the Bosstones' indy label, Big Rig Records released it's first signing, VOW OF POVERTY by Boston punkers, Mung. The label also released Impact Unit's MY FRIENDS & THE PIT.
In March, the Bosstones were part of Lifebeat's BOARDAID benefit concerts in Los Angeles. They also headlined a winter/spring tour of the Southeast with Face to Face and Wax.
In February, the Bosstones were musical guests on the Jon Stewart Show. In addition, they played a benefit show at T.T. the Bear's Place (Cambridge, MA) for the "Safe and Sound" cause.
In January, the Bosstones hosted MTV's 120 MINUTES.
