! My name is Ryan Walker, originally from D.C. but I am in school
at NYU.

I waited from 4:30am to 9:30am outside NBC to get standby tix to
SNL last saturday with my family who was visiting for the weekend and some
fellow fans that I met in line. You have a choice between getting a
ticket for the dress rehearsal or the live show. Although, with the
rehearsal you have a better chance of getting in and there was a
possibility of extra Bosstone music, we all took a chance on the live
show, which is ultimately cooler, because, well, it's the show! My family
was number 11 to 14.

Returning that night, we bit our nails while people who had real
tix arrived. Finally, they let the first 20 people in. We were so
excited! With Farley, Chris Rock, Chevy Chase and the Bosstones, it was
easily the best show of the season. During the pre-Bosstone commercial
break, I yelled "You rule Dicky" and he said "You do too, dude!" into the
mic. The crowd was laughing. You can hear me yelling in the background
right after Farley says " Mighty Mighty". One of the ushers said to me
during the next commercial break "Let me ask you a favor, I know you're
excited about the band, I think they're great too. But wait til after he
finishes saying the name of the band before you cheer"

After the show we all waited downstairs and met all the cast members and
all the bosstones. I got pictures taken with everyone. The guys signed
my Let's Face It vinyl. Dicky said they played "Impression" and "Royal
Oil" in rehearsal and the latter was cut. The world series game was not
a factor, the show was normal length even though it was delayed. Here's
something interesting, though. The show began at 11:35 in the studio, but
didn't start on TV until 20 minutes later. This is weird because SNL is
never, NEVER delayed in the least. It is always truly live, so I guess
this was a historic episode. It was such a good one, it's too bad it
wasn't aired live. I know I could have waited twenty more minutes to see
the show; the wait would have been worth it.

Also, a little old black lady came up to me after the show, seeing my
album, and asked "Are you a bosstones fan?" I said yes not thinking much
of it and then she introduced herself as Dennis' mom. That was pretty
cool.

See ya,
Ryan
